@vetguy1991 traditionally Catholics couldn't eat meat on the eve of major holidays and Fridays. Italians served fish on these days. because of the large family gatherings more than one fish was served. they eventually settled on a meal of seven different fish, hence the feast of 7 fishes on Christmas Eve. It's been our tradition since I was a little girl

@saragoodtimes I'm also Catholic, but we've never been super observant with these kinds of things, but this all looks delicious!! I would LOVE a feast of seven fishes!!!

@sarabee1995 we have plenty. all my Italian friends celebrate Christmas Eve with some variety of the 7 fish
