Is this bragging about Christmas?

I saw this post scrolling through my Facebook feed. Basically it says you should think before posting pictures of your full Christmas tree.

You should take into consideration the people who aren’t as lucky.

How do you feel about this message? Do you think people should stay humble and not share their joy or is this in the spirit of jealousy and we are just coddling people by not posting?

Tell me your thoughts.

Couple things come to mind -

90% of presents are normally worthless junk anyways. A big present might just be some needless tupperware set. In the bags, might be Walmart special $5 makeup palettes.
One should not be envious.

But also some crook on their contact list might see that and be thinking, "Hey look at all the stuff the Jones'es have to steal!"

Want to avoid crooks? Do not brag on social media.

The part about parents recently losing their jobs and cannot buy Christmas - oh yeah that IS true.
Companies LOOOOVE to do lay-offs and fire people close to Christmas. Hell they probably dance around and giggle like little kids when the "get" to announce lay-offs.

But yeah it is pretty well documented and known that social media can make people feel like crap about their own lives. Someone else is richer, prettier, has nicer vacations, bigger house, new Tesla, and their family life is perfect.

@Punches I get that, I grew up poor. Sometimes we didn’t have enough to eat.

My life isn’t sunshines and rainbows but if pictures I share with friends and family show a Christmas tree with lots of gifts in the background I am not going to edit that out and be worried.
