Is this bragging about Christmas?

I saw this post scrolling through my Facebook feed. Basically it says you should think before posting pictures of your full Christmas tree.

You should take into consideration the people who aren’t as lucky.

How do you feel about this message? Do you think people should stay humble and not share their joy or is this in the spirit of jealousy and we are just coddling people by not posting?

Tell me your thoughts.

Okay, so for a lot of years I was really turned off by Christmas. And not because we didn't have great Christmases. Ours typically looked very much like the one in the picture above.

I always maintained (and still do) that I preferred Thanksgiving over Christmas because its just like Christmas without the commercialism.

Now that my bro and I are adults, I've convinced my parents (read: Mom) to tone it down. Now we get together at Thanksgiving and decide what we, as a family, are going to do for Christmas. We've made large group donations to the Wounded Warrior Project, to Toys for Tots, to Catholic Charities, and a variety of other charities. We've been supporting a local women's shelter. And other things. But we no longer give each other gifts other than a Yankee Swap.

Now I like Christmas a lot more. We still spend too much, but it goes to people in need instead of to each other and I like that a lot better. I can buy my own sweaters. :)

@sarabee1995 I think that’s a great idea.
