Tis The Season
tis the season of joy and plenty
tis the season of those who don’t have any
tis the season of gifts and snowflakes
tis the season of the lonely and the lost
tis the season to make merry
tis the season in its madness and hurry
tis the season of marching bands
tis the season of helping hands
tis the season of Christmas trees
adorned so fanciful for all to see
tis the season of the ones who scrape by
to buy that toy lest their children cry
tis the season of many things
of old, of new, the tried and true
tis the season the people in the world
sure need hope
tis the season maybe war will stop
and the cruelty man shows to his fellow man would be a thing of the past
tis the season my heart yearns
tis the season the world still turns
tis the season the children ask
tis the season the peoples of this world might finally grab each others hand
and tis, this finally be the season
that love battered though not beaten
finally becomes the reason to unite,
be more than just words spoken, hoped for or dreamed about
and tis, this finally be the season
let the lonely and the lost
the marginalized, the outcasts
the ones that don’t carry favor
let all who tarry not lose hope that
tis the reason for this glorious season as we remember Jesus Christ’s commandments unto thee…
