35 days til Christmas SWeeps!

Family gathering at my aunt and uncle's. Women mostly together talking in the kitchen, men talking in the living room, the progeny of them downstairs watching sports. Me flitting around them all not feeling at home, stepping out for a smoke sometimes accompanied by our drug addict, we have a pensive talk about whatever no more than 10 words total spoken, before the meal is served we all bow our heads while usually my dad says grace, then the food is sooooo good, it almost makes up for the general awkwardness of everything. We open presents after the meal, kids running around everywhere, pictures taken which i avoid like the plague. My sister in law's dad sometimes comes dressed as Santa, making the kids gleeful.
