My own very personal favourite

In these days of the Hallmark Entertainment Christmas movies I like to look back, throw my hat into the ring and declare that my al time favourite Christmas movie is the Bishop's Wife (1947). It's a romantic comedy directed by Henry Koster and starring Cary Grant, Loretta Young, and David Niven. The plot is about an angel called Dudley who is send down to help a bishop with his problems. Dudley's actual mission, however, is not to help construct a proper cathedral, but to spiritually guide Bishop Henry and the people around him. Henry has become obsessed with raising funds to the detriment of his own family life. His relationships with wife Julia and their young daughter Debby are strained by his sigular focus on constructing the cathedral
