Is it pressure to ask whether your so bought an Xmas gift?

I never buy expensive gifts just practical things you can open on the day and use throughout the year.
People might say that's crap but I'm not rich and I hate pointless gifts.
Xmas is my favourite time of the year and I want you to feel special.
So I ask to make sure they know Im thinking of them and yes I do expect them to consider me.

If all else fails buy me chocolate...
I love it... People rarely think of it but I'm an addict just not anything with nuts unless it's Toblerone...
I don't look at gifts as something that needs to be reciprocated.... So IDK .... I guess I too, fall into the PRACTICAL GIFTS group..

This year:
My SO told me she needs a new cel phone. So I'm going to let her pick out what she wants at our cel carrier and I will use my "mad money" (we both get an equal 'no questions asked' allowance every two weeks) to pay for it.

My son has told me he wants a PS-5. But I have already ordered a bunch of themed apparel for him. So he won't be getting a PS-5 from me this year. Besides, he has an income that allows him to buy one himself if he really wants one.

What will I get:.... Probably nothing as that has been the norm in for many years in the past ... and TBH I'm fine with that.

@Threepio to get nothing oooh no...
I would kinda suggest something... Like new socks.
It's nice to have something to open.
I haven't really splashed out. I bought mum a scarf. Because I haven't a clue as to what to get her.
@Mellowgirl Well TBH... I'm kind of sick of the "commercialization" of Christmas. Not that I am very religious (or religious at all...lol) but I think the need for a 'shopping frenzy' to provide "gifts" takes away from the true meaning of the holiday.

@Threepio opening something practical usbr commercial. It's a gesture to show you're thought of and something you'll put to good use for the majority of the year hopefully
It's our anniversary the week before, so we celebrate that more than Christmas. We'll get practical things for Christmas and splurge on anniversary stuff.
