does anyone else not use a christmas tree

my family we dont use a christmas tree or teach our children about santa claus. well not the same as other families. we celebrate st nicholas day earlier in december and our children recieve a few small gifts usually a toy and some candy as most children do on christmas day. but as my son and daughter now attend school even though its a school ran by our church they hear about this person called santa from other kids and ask about him. i explain that christmas is for christ's birth and we give presents in honor of the gifts brought to the christ child by the wise men. which is the reason our christmas gifts are set out around our nativity scene instead under a tree. celebrating st nicholas day we started after my mom married my stepdad whose church and family held the tradation a hold over from their german heritage

We celebrate Sinterklaas in the Netherlands at 5 December, that’s his birthday.
Sinterklaas was the bishop of Mira in Turkey, lives in Spain and celebrate his birthday in the Netherlands by giving presents to children. Same like in Germany I guess
