Christmas is over for another year

This must be the most anti Christmas I have ever experienced in my life. No decorations at work, hardly anything in the city. No massive amounts of Xmas advertising.

Normally in the week leading up to Xmas there is that buzz in the air. Not this year. It's just another week like any other. I'm starting to think people cannot be bothered with Xmas this year.

I confess we are going through the motions for the sake of the Grandkids. All vaxxed up and safe enough. But expecting another year with its own set of problems. And comparatively we regard ourselves as lucky.馃樂

Perhaps it's not all being cannot be bothered. That may be true of some but others might be stopping to think,

"No, Christmas is not over.
Christmas Day is 3 days away from today (22nd), Twelfth Night, when traditionally you take the decorations down, is 15 days away.
So let's think about what really matters even if you are not religious - family and friends.
Not work-place p***-ups.
Not meretricious TV ads. Not supermarkets over-loaded with flashy toys and pseudo-sentimental pop-music.
Not big credit-card debts and tons of wasted food!"

Yeah. You know. I don't remember seeing the candy canes hanging on every other lamp post this year.
Also we don't have snow yet, so there is that.
Yeah you are right. Doesn't feel very Christmasy outside of my own living room.

@Dainbramadge pack up the tree, return the gifts. Christmas is done.

Not here. All the shops are decorated and the streets too. 馃巹
