Christmas present [I Christmas]

My two year old finally told me what she wanted for Christmas and it's not something I can give to her....
She came to me ten minutes ago and said mummy can we have a cat for Christmas. Told her we'll see what happens
I was wanting to get her a pet for a long time we had one when she was a baby but she passed, but unfortunately we cannot have one. Boyfriend said she'd forget about it on Christmas as she'll have her toys

That’s reasonable. She might appreciate it on Christmas but afterwards she might not it’s a chance you take unless you are prepared to fully look after it yourself if she looses interest we had a family rule when I was growing up which was no new pets until after Christmas just to make sure it wasn’t just a phase. You could take her to see some at a cat cafe or someone else’s just so she doesn’t feel left out.

@SW-User the other cat we had even though she was a baby she loved our other cat and she's good with my mums cats. I think it would be a great idea.
But even if I was going too I cannot get one as landlord don't allow
