I No Longer Love Christmas Like I Used To

The last post I wrote here in this group, I was told to help someone to help me get through this holiday season.
So, I invited an old friend of my husband who is on his last leg of hope in life.
He is a retired firefighter, was a captain at a big fire station.
10 yrs ago, his wife's lover tried to kill him. He took a direct shot to his gut!
He almost died, his wound healed.. on the outside but he was left with a huge void in his heart and soul!
He was overjoyed to join us for Christmas. He will be here Monday.
It put everything in perspective once again when it comes to what is important this time of the year... LOVE!
I went out and got all the fixings for a fine Christmas meal.
I feel so good about this, that all my own troubles disappeared.
