It’s been a beautifully sunny morning here and the clouds are starting to gather for the afternoon
Sixteen Celsius and sunny, we can lunch on the terrace which was always Nonno’s favourite spot for lunch 🥗. All are here for lunch but some of my cousins are going into Palermo later to a bar. Christmas cheer!
My uncle has been instrumental in helping Nonna decorate the house for the welcome to Christ at our door. 🚪 He always makes her use less red and more white and gold (the colours of our arms). She has been a part of our family for sixty years but she still mixes in her family arms.
Lunch is what we call antipasti but the Scandinavians call it ‘smörgasbord’. There are plenty of chairs for everyone to sit and eat, for the conversations to be rekindled and the laughter that Nonna so loves to hear.
