I am really saddened by all the posts I am seeing of people saying they aren't handing out candy this year because it's too expensive.

I understand money is tight for a lot of people, but I just think of all the kids who are going to really have a tough next couple of months going into the Holidays and I don't want them to miss out on the joys of Halloween. I was pretty poor growing up, didn't ever buy halloween outfits my Mom would just put her makeup on us to try to dress us up, but I remember how fun Halloween was for us and the neighborhood kids. Especially with the Snap benefits being cut next month I really hope those who can afford to buy candies do. I bought candy on sale and even though I really didn't have extra money to spend to me it's worth for these kids. I don't know this has been weighing on my heart heavily and I know it's not a big deal but we have to provide for these kids and our elderly and disabled who are going to suffer. I just wish I could do more.

That is what we should all be doing; looking out for the kids.

@HowtoDestroyAngels I just feel so sad for all these people who are going to suffer over this but especially the children.

@SlippingAway I know. For example, I smoke. If I can afford to do something that is ultimately killing me with my money, then I figure I can afford to buy candy for the kids.

@HowtoDestroyAngels Yes I hear ya, locally the news today is calling for people to volunteer to deliver food for seniors because with the snap benefits being cut they are saying the demand is going to be more than they can handle right now and I thought I may not have money to donate right now but I sure got time I can donate that way. I think all of us can help each other in different ways.

@SlippingAway My company delivers groceries for Target. We are donating two pallets of candy to the food bank. They are then going to partner with local churches and give them candy for trunk or treats. That was the kids can get their candy in a safe environment.

@SlippingAway diet or doctor?

@HowtoDestroyAngels Just trying to save it for the kiddos LOL but also trying to be good on my diet. I like sweets too much, it's better for me to stay away so I don't indulge more than I should.

@SlippingAway I got a question? My daughter is 12 so I'm getting her candy. My son is 18 though and even has his own place with another dude. Should I get him some too?

@HowtoDestroyAngels Yes, I think he'd like that too. I'd say get him some.
