European holiday destination?

I’m planning to go away this year but not sure where, too many options.

The first thing you might want to look at is if you'll require a visa before booking anything.

@Picklebobble2 Are there any European destinations require a visa for British visitors?
Picklebobble2 · 56-60, M
@ninalanyon Everywhere.
Once you leave the EU you lose all your travel without borders privileges

@Picklebobble2 I went through French passport control a couple of days ago, they didn't tell me off for not having a visa.

@ninalanyon A visa is only a requirement if you want to stay beyond 30 days in any 6 month period.
As i understand it.

@Picklebobble2 According to https://www.gov.uk/travel-to-eu-schengen-area you don't need a visa unless you exceed 90 days in any 180 days.

How this affects people like me who have permanent resident status in an EEA, EFTA, Schengen country I haven't been able to find out.

@ninalanyon it restricts me a lot, I was living 50/50 Spain /England, mostly Spain in winter.

@SW-User So now you are stuck with 90 days at a time instead of 180? I don't have that problem because I have permanent resident status in Norway but I do wonder what impact further tightening of the EU rules might have on my travels to the UK. I pass through five countries between Norway and the UK, it would be tedious having to get ESTA style visa waivers. Perhaps I should apply for Norwegian citizenship after all.

@ninalanyon The British people are reaping what they voted for, but did not deserve.

@SW-User This British person didn't vote for it, I wasn't allowed to vote.
