The way we measure time is just a construct. Big and new things can happen any time of the year.

I think so....
It's just a way for me (and other people no doubt) to compartmentalize events that happen. I don't know how much more difficult it'd be to track events in history if we didn't record it with years.
And it's interesting to me because each year takes on an identity of some kind.
