A Personal Journey

For a while I'd kinda accepted that I wasn't a natural singer but a couple of years ago I got inspired by Home Free's cover of Ring of Fire that they performed on The Sing Off. When Tim Foust goes down to that F#1, I was astounded not only at how awesome it sounded, but how long he kept it for.
Over two years later and I can emulate that exact note and others. When I started my vocal journey, my range was barely F#2-C#5 (including falsetto as my chest would barely take me up to an F4 at the time).
Now my ranges for all my techniques are as follows.
Chest: D2-G#4
Falsetto: G#3-F5
Whistle Tone: C5-Eb7
Chest-Fry: D2-G1
Growl: B1-Eb1
Ingressive Phonation: A2-C1
Subharmonics: F2-Bb0
Vocal Fry: F1-E0
My average highest and lowest notes for each technique vary and only falsetto and whistle tone are really used for high notes. My average extremes are as follows.
Falsetto: F5
Whistle Tone: C#7/D7
Chest Fry: A1
Growl: E1
Ingressive Phonation: G0
Subharmonics: F1/E1
Vocal Fry: F0/G#0
Nonetheless. The whole point of this illustration is that 28 months ago, I couldn't do any of this and my range was barely two octaves. Not only that but I am no natural singer and I'm still working on all the core elements I need to improve. Eventually I hope to get lessons to improve my techniques properly and hopefully master all my voice has to offer. Consider this as an inspirational nudge to all those out there thinking of pursuing a personal goal of some description but are feeling daunted about the prospect. Just take it day at a time and remember that rewards come not only to those who wait, but those who work.
Best of health to you all.
