I can't believe he had the nerve to ask me for a light. ๐Ÿ˜‘

I was in line at a gas station and some guy in front of me told the cashier he wants the extra change to go to a fundraiser they were advertizing. The cashier politely told him there was no extra change, it was all being used to pay for his drink (or whatever he bought). He said, "But it said $2 over there". This cashier was young and obviously really nervous. She said with a shy voice, "Well, yeah but it's not always the same as on the price tag."

The guy got visibly upset and said, "Well you can't just change the price of things."

She started to nervously trip over words so I spoke up and said, Is it because of sales tax? She said "yeah".

The guy started cussing under his breath, angrily paid for his shit, and then smiled like an eel as he pulled more change out of his pocket and slowly dropped it into the fundraiser box, staring at her, as if to say, "Look at what a great person I am for donating 40 cents to a cause I know nothing about".

She was like 20 and nervous so I don't blame her, but he was around 40. Idk what 40-year-old man has never heard of sales tax.

A couple minutes later I walked outside and went past him. He said, "You got a lighter?"

No, sorry.

He asked again (for some reason): "Just wondering if you have a lighter for my cigarette."

No, sorry. ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ idk what he expected. Maybe he thinks he's magic and if he asks twice, suddenly one will appear in my pocket and I'll say, Oh, yeah buddy, here ya go. ๐Ÿ˜†

@WaryWitchWandering Yeah probably. I think he also thought I saw him as the good guy in this scenario. Which is far off.
