A project in process...

I'm making an art/work table using a door from a house that was built in the 1700s. The legs are 2x4s wall studs and support slats are from the outside of the house. I also kept the original square nails in it. I still have to put epoxy resin on the door to make the surface smooth. First time project like this.

Whoa, how did you manage to find a door from the 1700’s?
@cherokeepatti it is a house that was standing beside of my aunt's house on her property. She actually lived there at one time. I wish I had a picture of the house but I can't find any. They recently tore it down.

@TerminalChaos I read something not long ago that there are still homes built in the eastern U.S. that are still standing, they were so well-built back then and apparently well-maintained too in order to last that long.
@cherokeepatti it was definitely built to last. I was lucky to be able to get some boards. I wished I would have gotten more interior boards. I have enough to build a wishing well from it that I'm actually going to give to my aunt when I'm done.

@TerminalChaos I just watched a story on the news about restoring a building that was a store back in the 1700s that Ben Franklin told that he went to quite often!
@fanuc2013 I would have enjoyed watching that lol
