how to fix a cloudy lava lamp

i recently bought a second hand mathmos lava lamp online, its great and was flowing fine up until recently...its green wax and clear liquid....but just yesterday the liquid turned cloudy whilst i had the lamp on for hours, it was flowng fine but just cloudy liquid or foggy liquid.

does anyone know why this is and what's the solution to it?
