Is it one of those little rollers switches mounted to the power cord? If so, it's an easy fix. Get a new switch on amazon and just replace the broken switch with the new one.

@come2gether yes its one of those rollers switches on the power cord, i should of specified....what would i put in the search box in amazon, a roller switch? what is the correct name for it?
and how could i replace the switch myself? i am not diy minded at all, thanks for answering too.

@darkmere1983 inline rotary switch lamp cord.
If no screws on old switch, just pry it apart with a hammer and screw driver. The replacement will be held together with a screw.
If the old wires were soldered in place, that's okay, the replacement switch will be designed so you won't have to do that. Just look at both the wires are now and repeat that with new switch
