Not in an across the board kind of of way but I dislike horror movies.

I wanted to address this point because I Obviously found Ripley's performance during Alien to be really compelling and enjoyed it and I'm a big fan of disturbing behavior but I wanted to register as someone who actually rather Dislikes Horror as a genre and I wanted to distance myself from being "too sensitive' for the genre and too receptive to fear.

these films by and large rarely ever actually frighten me.

What I hate is the repetitive lazy story telling that's quite frequently recycled and the reality that if there is lore it often is the last thought put into things so there's only as much of it as absolutely necessary and so you rarely bond with characters or really form much attachment to them and even if you did watching them die would be more painful than fun.

I just think like slashers for instance are truly not even an interesting premise. oh a bunch of women get killed. and that's all there is as far as lore. it's stupid. you could have done something with them and instead you just watch them get killed.

and films like Cherry falls as popular a they were have gigantic plot holes like how does he know they're virgins?

this isn't ever explained.
