Traveling in our RV and exploring new areas. 🙂

@Musicman The quintessential hobby, your backyard ends somewhere beyond the horizon. Beauty and discovery wait down lonely roads.

Such a rewarding way to live, I hope you guys can get travelling again!

I always think of that one photo of you guys parked on U.S 1, watching the sun set into the ocean. Astounding experience.

Gosh I need to travel 😩

@SethGreene531 I think this is the photo you are talking about. We really enjoyed Key West. RV sites there are so hard to find. That one was a last minute cancellation and it was right on the water. 😊

@Musicman Hey...yeah that's the one!
Very cool!

I'm not surprised it's hard to get; those are prime camp sites.

On my bucket list! Though, I might need to reserve a spot ahead.

@SethGreene531 I want to see Arizona, New Mexico, Utah and Nevada. So far our two longest trips have been seven weeks each.
@Musicman Top of my list also. Beautiful landscapes. A lot of history too.

7 weeks?, that's terrific. You really need a month or more at minimum to do an RV roadtrip properly.
No doubt you captured some great pictures!

@SethGreene531 Yes we have. I also want to spend a summer touring Canada and I would like to see the North East. New Hampshire, Vermont and Maine.
@Musicman Those are some great destinations. I'm sure you won't be disappointed.
Looking to tour Vermont and New Hampshire also, and work down into the Adirondacks.
You'll love Maine, and the whole North East.

Canada's a must see also. The Rockies, plains, arctic circle tours and cruises.
I think there's a train trip like Amtrack up there as well.

@SethGreene531 I agree with you. I would like to see Alaska too. I just don't know about taking the RV up there. I just really like traveling.
@Musicman I agree. Alaska will kill an RV. Especially going to places like Dawson City, etc.
Leave it to the pro's. Take a cruise.

It is rather extreme. Good travel, like you say, need not require going to the ends of the earth.
There's lots to be seen in the Rockies of Colorado, the Tetons of Wyoming, and the base of the Sierra Nevada.

@SethGreene531 We have been to Cheyenne Wyoming. 🙂 We did Cheyenne Wyoming, Wichita Kansas, Oklahoma City, Memphis Tennessee then came home.
@Musicman Some fantastic places, very nice!

You've already checked off some items on your must see list.

I've seen parts of Tennnessee..Chattanooga, Knoxville; but not iconic Memphis or Nashville yet.
Small portions of Kansas in the sticks, ans parts of the nearby plain states.

Had a maintenance job offer in OK, but their summers hit 108!!

A guy I knew was from tiny Casper WY, inspiring mental imagery like something from a western.
I remember a live radio show, and a trucker checked in going through the Beartooth Pass overnight in heavy winds. It really inspired the wanderlust.

@SethGreene531 On that trip we stayed the night on the way out and back in Oakley Kansas. It was a small farm town. They only had three restaurants. The town was only a couple of blocks long.

When we evacuate for hurricanes Chattanooga is our go to place. We really like it there.
@Musicman Neat. The 1 block, 2 restaurant towns are a marvel. A way of life most haven't seen likely.

Chatanooga is a realistic driving distance, and puts a good buffer between you and the bulk of the storm. There's ample services available also; good place to be in a time of crisis.

Someone I knew on SW had family in Chicago. They'd flee the gulf coast and fly there instead.
Musicman · 61-69, M
@SethGreene531 Good for them. Do they have a house or family there? Chattanooga is a two day drive for us.
@Musicman Family there.

2 days sounds right. Travelling the length of Florida, plus the expanse of Georgia is quite the haul.
Musicman · 61-69, M
@SethGreene531 Getting through Atlanta is a nightmare too. ☹
@Musicman Oh yes, vividly remember that. Crawling South in midday traffic, airport to our right. 🤦‍♂😩
Musicman · 61-69, M
@SethGreene531 All I can say is it's a good thing we have an onboard bathroom and kitchen.
@Musicman I second that. Gridlock is trial enough without the torture of needing the restroom, 50 car lengths and an off-ramp away.

Not to mention a cool glass of water or lemonade, and space to stretch your legs.
Musicman · 61-69, M
@SethGreene531 Exact! We always have a couple of cases of water with us. We usually have a couple of Premier Protein Chocolate drinks with us too. Sometimes my wife will cut up an apple for us to share or get us cheese and crackers. We have a full size residential refrigerator.

@Musicman That will hold a lot of lemonade 👍 😎
Ample kitchen space too!

The flexibility for refreshments is limitless.
It also cuts back on needless expenditures at gas bars fueling up.

Keeping your hydration, electrolytes, and protein stable through water, fruit, and shakes is key.
I've heard of Premier Protein but not tried it yet.
Drank a fair bit of Ensure, some Boost.
Musicman · 61-69, M
@SethGreene531 Premier Protein had 30 grams of protein and a fraction of the sugar.
@Musicman I get that. Ensure is quite sweet, with 26 grams protein. I don't think they offer a glucose reduced diet version either.
