@eli1601 what are your top five investment strategies?
eli1601 · 70-79, M
Only one. Buy stocks of companies with a proven track record of growing profits and don't sell unless those fundamentals change. And most important, don't panic and sell when the market temporarily tanks, which will happen periodically. That's an opportunity to add good stocks at a discount.

@eli1601 what percent of your savings do you invest in stock markets?
Nomad7 · 22-25, M
@eli1601 People who go for growth stocks already pay a premium that's factored into the price in most cases.
For a defensive investor, growing earnings over time is one of the criteria in selecting stocks of large corporations at reasonable prices. But this is one of a number of more important factors such as market cap, strong liquidity, debt, stable dividend records, a reasonable P/E and P/B and of course, free cash flows

@Nomad7 too much to study if you focus on fundamental analysis, technical analysis is better I guess 🤔
Nomad7 · 22-25, M
@SimplyLogicalDiscipline Technical analysis is a hoax. It's not real. Stocks are pieces of businesses, you need to treat them as those
SimplyLogicalDiscipline · 36-40, F
@Nomad7 it's not hoax, it's mathematics , stocks are pieces of businesses but index is not
Nomad7 · 22-25, M
@SimplyLogicalDiscipline There's no evidence that you can make positive risk adjusted returns over time using technical analysis
SimplyLogicalDiscipline · 36-40, F
@Nomad7 I hope, someday I will be able to share the evidence 🤞

@SimplyLogicalDiscipline Now that I'm retired, about 35% in stocks.
