Shooters do you have a preferred set up?

My brother and I were talking pistols. I preferred the shield over glock

@xixgun I'm not downing glock but I have a distinct preference for 3 dot sight systems

@Powderflask after market sights work well

@TexChik right but my shield 2.0 came with a crimson trace and 3 dots from the factory, instead of paying extra

@Powderflask We don't have any S&W M&Ps . Ive held a few. I was just happy with the results from the glock. I took a shooting class and the instructor was a glock guy...My husband prefers a .357. So I bought one and its been fine. The shield is a fine weapon.

@TexChik right, I'm trying to be clear that I'm not downing any weapon my question was about preferences. All my weapons have either a single dot or 3 dot configuration

@Powderflask I agree. Lots of my friends love M&P. If it’s good in your hand it’s perfect !

@Powderflask My preference in sights is not found very often. I carried a SigSauer P220 for a number of years at work and it had a white square under a round white dot profile. Faster then a 3 dot, no chance of a cross fire and more precise of a sight picture. When we went to tritium they were all 3 dots. I still prefer the 2 sights stacked on top of each other but no one makes them.

For most applications, in good light, plain black sights are fine. The dot systems come into their own during twilight and dim light situations and the tritium in total darkness.

What is important is to find a system that is reliable, works for you, and that you can carry all day every day. The pistol you left in the car or in the safe will do you no good at all.

@bowman81 I'm visually challenged to say the least, I don't do black sights
