I'm type 1, my SO is partly type 2. He goes off to sleep immediately, while I can't sleep even after silence and no light. We get along perfectly fine, although sometimes I do get jealous of his ability to sleep so easily but i've come to love my quiet alone winding down time. It relaxes me after a day of being around people.
