I’m so confused.

My friend told me in an exchange of good & services stylee that he’d teach me to drive if I knit him a pair of mittens, complete with idiot string, naturally.

I have lovely bright pink wool & everything. But... what? Does anyone know anything about knitting? The pattern may as well be written in Swahili! I don’t have a clue what’s going on. Ugh. So difficult.
