@UndeadPrivateer With their doctrine of using IFVs to directly support their infantry, the 5-man squad makes more sense. Since there are 5 IFVs per Panzergrenadier Platoon, and the fact that later platoons have two MILAN launchers attached in a sort of AT Squad, it seems reasonable that the IFVs would be designated as: HQ (5 men: Leutnant, Medic, Radioman, and MG team), 3 Squads (5 men: Squad leader, MG Team, 2 riflemen), and an AT Squad (5 men: 2 bazooka teams and Platoon NCO).
MTW (M113)/truck platoons have 3 bazooka teams instead of two because their vehicles can carry more passengers.

@SW-User Neat, sounds like a quite utilitarian squad structure. Should work well, I think.
