Government weed is absurdly overpackaged

When I was a kid, marijuana was a DRUG. It still SHOULD be. it used to be illegal and studies proved that steady potheads had troubles remembering things (sometimes they were important).I read somewhere that this young man worked with himself and a cook in a twenty-four-hour diner (just them). He classified them both as "potheads" and said that he often forgot an order and had to go back and give the order again. He said he was beginning to forget things and wondered if pot was affecting his brain.

@MaryJanine I have questions about it too, but I have an equal number of questions about the things "research" proves that someone wants us to believe.

Whoever decided to make marijuana legal has oatmeal where his brains belong - every man jack of them. Either it's illegal or it's not. Let's go back to Square One and be done with it. You make this legal in most of the country and you are in the WRONG. I don't want to go around smelling an increase in a burned grass scent - or have it glaum onto my hair or face.

@MaryJanine BREAKING NEWS: cannabis is still a drug, in fact to be pedantic it's 2 drugs. Alcohol is a drug. Aspirin is a drug. I take 2 drugs every day of my life, divalproex sodium and lamotrigine.

What's changed is that people aren't having their lives ruined and my tax money isn't spent investigating, prosecuting and incarcerating them.

Thanks for the anecdote about the cook in the diner that you read somewhere, that's why you don't work while you're stoned. You're talking to a mathematician who was a contractor for the European Space Agency here.

Alcohol is a "social" drug. People have been drinking for years and by the time they figure out it's bad for them, they are hooked. My father was an alcoholic for most of my growing-up years and all I saw was the fights, arguments, thrown dishes, curses and my mother's black eyes or bruises. I was proud when he finally quit, but it was a long twenty years to get there. None of me or my siblings drink, thank God.

Aspirin is a drug - but not a illegal one. It does good when I have a cold or headache. you can buy it OTC - which is what I do.

My one sister-in-law has a heart condition, so she is on certain kinds of medication all day long (usually with food). At one point, she was on 17 kinds of pills.

I try to eat and drink healthily. I have too much in my "bucket list" to do to take up marijuana at this stage in my life.
