I learned the hard way that the key to long battery life in any electronic device is to allow it to run under 10% power before charging it. Charging it after each use will weaken the batter since it is on a sensor. If you plug it up at 50%, as the battery ages, the charge will be weaker and weaker as it will "register" that your 50% is the 100% so it will tell you so.
Mine (I've had the notebook for three years now) is still lasting a good five hours or more depending on the number of videos I watch on it at a time. The more you watch, the faster your battery will discharge.
You may want to either begin with a new battery or try my suggestion to only charge it when the battery gets below (or close to) the 10%. Depending upon the age of your laptop, it may be too late to try it.
I know this because I used to keep my cell phone charged constantly. This weekened the battery's life cycle and I had to get a new battery in less than a year and I never watched videos on it (youtube wasn't available at that point).
I was given the preceding advice and it worked for cell phones and my other devices. My old cell phone's battery lasted about five years until I turned the unit in for a more updated model. UJ

All depends on the age, what you are doing and the battery type.

It depends on how intense your usage is... but I think about 6 hours.
