Do not jump to conclusions. What occurred to you may or may not have been the 'cause-effect' of your Karma. The only way to know is if you have the ability to observe the dynamics of your soul. That necessitates a certain spiritual ability.
You can also seek guidance from an enlightened being, if you are fortunate enough to find one.
Karma essentially implies action.Action in any kind. Every action has an effect. Thats all.
Not all of your suffering may be caused by your past Karma. What did Jesus do to be crucified, Buddha to bepoisoned orLord Krishna to beshot dead by an arrow?
So do not despise yourself. Life is about transforming the soul and repairing the karmic structure. So use this life for that purpose.
