We mistake hinduism as a Religion. It's a culture. Technically you cannot say that it is polytheistic. Because it says there is only God. But acknowledge the presence of Deities. Which are basically some form of evolution of a soul. They were human once. And their worship is more tantric in nature.
But Hinduism don't have any constriction or restriction on who you can worship. You can worship anyone you please. It's your business. That's all.
