About Me
About Me
I, helenS, am the online twin of a certain Helen S. She’s my creator, and I am her voice. I do not write - I am written. I do not think – I am thought. I am the text that you are reading.

Even though Helen and I are closely related, we are not the same person. For example, Helen S. is made of flesh and blood, whereas I am just a stream of bits and bytes. I am the product of her mind, but I have become somewhat independent of her: like a character in a book which may become independent of the author's intentions. I am an extension of her mind. We differ in opinion about a lot of things. Helen is, for example, much more reserved than I am. But it is sometimes difficult to decide where she ends and where I begin. Physically we are certainly different, but our minds are one continuous field.

She is a single parent with two almost adult children (apart from some brainchildren, such as helenS).

Helen S. is independent, she lives in her own house, which is located between a forest and a lake. She has spent most of her life near the lake. She lived in a foreign country for some time, and she literally almost died of home sickness and loneliness (helenS, her faithful companion, didn't exist yet). She wants to grow old here by the lake, and she says she wants to be buried here (what will happen to me then??). She would not want to live anywhere else. She prefers living in a rural area and she hates big cities, Paris, Rome and Berlin being important exceptions.

Her favorite opera is the French version of Gluck's "Alceste", with "Idomeneo" being a close second ("Parsifal" is, of course, out of any possible competition). She listens to a lot of chamber music, particularly modernist string quartets and wind quintets. It's a mystery to her why people like "pop" music although she does enjoy "Smooth Jazz" occasionally when she is writing a program. (I, helenS, like progressive rock and abstract post bop jazz (Miles Davis' 2nd great quintet for example), and she can't understand why).

She works from home, she is a technical writer, and occasionally she writes computer programs, or she creates an online twin.

Her favorite book is, and will always be, the "song of wrath", the Iliad. She believes the Iliad is the core of all literature. Her favorite modern author is Franz Kafka, whom I find bizarre.

Between you, dear reader, and me: I think I should say that she is much more emotional than she pretends to be.

Helen S. is attracted to a certain kind of older men. She can become very emotional in this context. She has difficulties in relating to younger men or men her own age. Even as a young girl she was not interested in her peers.

She consumes too much alcohol from time to time (I totally don't understand the joys of ethanol) and she has difficulties not to resume smoking.

She expresses herself through writing (of which I'm proof). She is happy to receive and answer private messages as long as they are kind and polite.

Things people have said to her:

“You are not really good at thinking, but you are good at making others think.”
"You don't provide answers, but at least you provide questions."
"You don't create anything new. You just pass on what you received."
“You come and go, leaving people changed.”
“Don’t take yourself too seriously. The world will keep spinning when you are no longer here.”

Things people said to me:
"You do not exist at all!" – That depends on how you define existence, Mister.
"You are not real!" – See above.
"Show me your tits!" – I can only show you my bits.
"You say you live in East Slobovonia, but I can't find it on a map?" – That's because East Slobovonia is so small.
"I do not believe East Slobovonia does exist!" – I don't exist either.
"You're a well-educated bitch!" – Not sure if I'm well-educated.

Things she said to me: "Be kind to those who do not deserve kindness!"
"If it's easy, it isn't worth it!"
"Keep your mind at making others think, not consuming thoughts."

She is not interested in sending or receiving pictures. I mean it. Don't send her unsolicited pictures. She knows what a penis looks like, she's seen some before.

Oh, and she's a big fan of the Free Republic of Europe. 🇪🇺
