Bit of a rocky start, but im getting it🤗

Day 6 of fasting.

After a few hiccups with tight muscles and a kind of 'flittering' feeling of my heartbeat for a day....i think im finally getting it.

Lessons learnt:
- you need waaaay more salt than you think. Like a teaspoon or more of salt a day, (on top of electrolytes).
- electrolytes are PARAMOUNT
- Vitamin B1 helps.

- I also added creatine to help keep everything hydrated.
- and extra D3, K2, and magnesium.

I feel....... really good. Clear.

I think i might even be sleeping better

Got mega pissed off at something this morning, but im now calm and over it. (Normally id rant away to myself for a while to destress), but im good👍

The fluttery feeling was fixed by having two cups of soup made from salty stock powder....and (dont laugh)....slowly licking a teaspoon of Vegemite while watching a movie😏,
(Normally that'd be nutella).

I think im really getting this fasting thing.

Im also dealing with the heat of summer better. Normally it wipes me out so much i gotta keep getting in the shower to cool off.

I do keep googling food tho😂

here I am trying to tackle daily a 12 hour fast 😬
@StygianKohlrabi We all start somewhere. That's exactly where i started.

Do you still eat things with sugars and/or starches?
Things like that make fasting difficult.
Sugars/starches/simple carbs and many processed food ALL raise blood glucose.
High blood glucose, even if dealt with by insulin - creates blood glucose spikes.... then blood glucose drops, which then translate into cravings.

I learnt early on that to stop that horrible empty feeling, you need to get into ketosis BEFORE you enter any sort of a fast.

Best last meals before a fast are stuff like:
- fatty bacon
- roast chicken dripping with butter
- fatty meat like a a hamburger (no bun), or a nice steak with a good amount of fat on it.

*Protein and fat are the key elements* = ketogenic, long burning, low GI foods.

So then you enter a fast with food that wont give you a glucose spike

@OogieBoogie ah mucho appreciado 🙇

Yes, sadly I just love my starches and sugars. that's why I will never go on a no carb diet. I look forward to these things. but I realize the need to cut down.
