Do you think air conditioners can make you sick?

Buddy of mine gets headaches every time he turns his on, and when I'm over I start having coughing fits when it's on. He says he cleaned the filter, but I think there's something worse going on in there.

if its a window unit it might need to be taken out side. the front taken off and the inside fins that get cold cleaned off well with the jet nozzle. if you have a mixing nozzle you can mix in some soap to get the dirt out then then rinse the fins off. then spray some anti mold spray on them. lot of people do sneeze when the temperature drops.
