I've not had that surgery, but I do have tips to ensure a great surgical experience.

Almost ten years ago, I woke during surgery. As a result of my experience, I learned how it can be prevented, and it's really easy.

1-A sedative such as Versed, to make sure if you do wake up, you won't remember anything.

2-A BiSpectral Index monitor, (BSI, or "bis monitor" in nurse- speak). This nifty device attaches to your forehead and enables the anesthesiologist to make sure you are truly under anesthesia.

Using these two steps, I have had great experiences surgically, and VERY STRONGLY recommend them.
