Does scented lotion burn your dry skin?

My feet ONCE AGAIN are hurting. This time it's only the top at the bottom of my feet. Reason why I'm asking is because they were burning with pain one time I woke up. I put lotion and my aloe infused socks on (been wearing them all day). I had soaked my feet in milk butter so they would be moisturized the other night (felt better). My foot problems are not over yet apparently. I wish I didn't need to walk at the moment. Feels good to just not walk at all.
