Belching.. rude or complimentary?

Just don't do it...& better yet don't do it in my face lol

It may be rude, well it differs from culture to culture.

But honestly, I just don't see how it's rude to pass the extra air in our stomachs.

I don't take it as a compliment. The sound just annoys me.
