yeah quite.
I have high highs and low lows.
When I fall in love, I fall deeply. It scares me, so I have probably kept people at a distance for fear that I'd fall for them.

@arcobaleno: ditto. That is so annoying, I find I have to keep everything at atm's length but no one truly knows me. It can be hard to understand why I'm like this still

@JovialPlutonian: for me I think it's a lifetime habit. I have also been hurt many times which doesn't make it easier to overcome the urge to shut people out.
