Should I continue to hide them?

I used to cut (8 months clean now) and I'm ashamed of my scars so I constantly wear long sleeves and avoid shorts that are too short. Some days I feel like it's unnecessary and want to stop caring about them, but I cant. Should I continue to hide them or should I try to stop caring about them? How do people view scars? Will I automatically be labelled as the "depressed girl"?
