How do you cope with or deal with a "loved one" who has been diagnosed with borderline personality disorder?

...in addition to 4 other clinical diagnosis, when this person refuses any kind of treatment...馃槖uuuuufffff..smhsfm!!!

It can be ok. It can get complicated too. Holding a job can be difficult. Reality can be a challenge as your never quite sure what the truth is. They're also highly emotional. All of the above have nothing to do with their intelligence.

The photo below is the best way I can explain it. The Wise Mind is usually a larger area in people without BPD. With BPD, the emotional and reasonable sides are larger, but don't meld well together into wise thought.

@Teddybear: yes, so is my older daughter. I completely understand. I believe treatment would be best in a hospital program with long term tools vs traditional therapy.

@Adogslife: the challenging part is trying to get the person to accept some kind of treatment is necessary to make positive, acceptable strides for the better. No change is possible without the desire to change coming from within.
