How can I convince my mom to let me talk to my doctor about birth control?

The cramps I get are awful and prevent me from doing easy things, like unloading the dishwasher but she won't agree with me on it.

There are better ways to manage cramping. And your mother probably doesn't want to encourage you to have sex by giving you birth control. Look at it this way; you are only a year or so away from being able to get to a doctor on your own.

She knows I want it because of cramps though, she knows I wouldn't have sex. More like 2 years.

@Rene1027: Teens tend to be impulsive and to underestimate the power of sexuality on the unconscious. Often, sex happens in an unplanned way. She fears the lure of intimacy with a boyfriend will overwhelm you and knowing you are protected from pregnancy makes it easier to say yes.

@greenmountaingal: But I also know that it doesn't work for that 100% of the time and I never want kids, so I'm going to die a virgin.

@Rene1027: Your mother knows that is unlikely. Guys happen. Ask her to see a doctor about your cramps and tell her you will ask the doctor to write a prescription that will not be a contraceptive.

@greenmountaingal: I still am not having sex for a long time though, so I don't know what she would be worried about.
