What should I do about PMS/period cramps?

I mean mainly when I'm at school for 7 hours throughout this week.

I have a friend who would get period pains so badly her skin would turn green, faint and have to take time off work. She often told me that curling up into a ball with a hot water bottle would be about the only thing to slightly deminish the pain...I hope you're not as bad as her. :S

When I'm at home, I curl up with a heating pad and cry for hours, but it is supposed to start Tuesday-ish... Can't do that at school though.

The next best thing would be to take some strong painkillers and pray it doesn't get too bad

@Xicsukin: The pain medicine that used to work doesn't last the whole school day, like it used to. If I have it with me, I can get suspended.

@Rene1027: get a doctors appointment, let them know the situation and request a doctors note about the medication. The school can't say jack to that...They might even be able to give you something stronger too.

@Xicsukin: Do doctor's notes only last that year?
Xicsukin · M
@Rene1027: honestly I'm not entirely sure, different rules for different places, and I've never had a doctors note either.

@Xicsukin: I'm actually scared to talk to my doctor about it.

@Rene1027: write what you need to say and hand it to your doctor. I used to do it when I was embarrassed or shy to talk about somthing, they will understand

@Xicsukin: I don't think my mom would take me to the doctor's for it though.
Xicsukin · M
@Rene1027: you can go to the doctors on your own at any age, you don't need your mother's permission :)
fluteacorn · 22-25, F
@Xicsukin: I don't have a way of getting there though.
Xicsukin · M
@Rene1027: Christ, no buses or anything? It's a bloody medical reason, your mother should be more than willing to take you.
fluteacorn · 22-25, F
@Xicsukin: She hates taking me to appointments, since I already have one every week for therapy.
Xicsukin · M
@Rene1027: have you explained the situation to your therapist? S/he might be able to help you out.
fluteacorn · 22-25, F
@Xicsukin: How would a therapist be able to help with it?
Xicsukin · M
@Rene1027: it's what a thripist if there for, any medical or illegal activities she has to leg authorities know without out your permission, so I would assume with your permission she could make the calls. Even if I'm Wrong, you won't know till you try.
