To those of you who've lost weight, what motivated you?

I could drop about 60 pounds. I don't hate my body but it'd be nice to be smaller. However I apparently don't hate myself enough to actively lose weight. I need a motivator and have none. Where did you get yours from?

I decided I needed to get healthier. In Dec of 2015, I was 350 lbs. I am 220 now. Besides getting healthier, I have OA, and I know that the extra weight on my joints wasn't helping any, so I got after it and am doing what I have to. Plus, hating yourself isn't the way to go about it. You just have to make up your mind and then do it. No excuses, no self hate, just do what you have to do to be the best you that you can be.

Haven't gotten to that point yet apparently. Congrats on your weight loss. They say the first 2 weeks is the hardest. Is that true? I've never really made it past that..

@Lucifette: It is...that's how it is getting used to any habit though, but once you acquire the habit, it pays off big time. I used to not like walking. Now I enjoy it because of the interesting things I see.

Also, I like to listen to music when I walk, and even though I'm a fairly quick walker most days, it still takes a little more time to get there than in a car which means I get to listen to music more. It's a win-win situation all around.
