Why do we have hair where we have hair?
Underarms and groin? Nose, ears, tops of fingers, eyebrows? Not even sure why it's on our head. If feathers are so good why didn't we have them?

Keeps extremities warm Tops of fingers ??? ?? Anyway feathers is an excellent idea, I still don't know why we haven't evolved to grow hairy hands and hairy feet in the winter to keep warm and then shed them in spring.
