Who else is on their period today?

I got mine today. :( It's a good thing I planned a hike for today. Hopefully that'll get rid of cramps for a while.

In some places in South America, cramps are celebrated. When I read that, I started to change my views on them.

So I congratulate you.

One day because of these, you can become the wonderful Mom you wish to be, and your child will be a gift to this world. The world will thank you and this is a small price to pay for these camps.

That is definitely a positive way to view periods. I don't get mad at periods since I know they serve a biological function, even if I don't plan on having kids. :)

@hiddenkitty: how could anybody get mad at periods? What a ridiculous thing to waste time and energy on. As if getting angry would change anything

@CassandraFemale17: Some people are mad at periods because they get cramps that are so bad they cannot get out of bed, even with medicine

@hiddenkitty: then they should stop taking the medicine and switch to a plant based diet.

Medicines are nothing more than chemicals, and doctors make money prescribing them.

People should take control of their own basic health needs, and periods are basic. Literally half the world gets them, so they are not a medical condition, they are a human and menstrual condition.

No one will die of them, so why dump chemicals into your body to no avail. We are becoming a self absorbed society where every ache is cured with pills. Pills are the problem. And periods are normal. If pains are so severe, change your diet

@CassandraFemale17: Have you heard of endometriosis? Women with this condition have severe period cramps. This is a problem that some women have to face. With that said, I agree that there are a lot of doctors who prescribe unnecessary expensive medication out of greed. And I agree that a plant-based diet has many benefits, which is why I am on one. And I understand that periods are simply a bodily function and not a medical condition, unlike endometriosis.
