One thing I have noticed is everybody is downplaying symptoms and cracking it up to the common cold and those that care to get tested when around somebody who is sick get blasted for hogging up testing centers and urgent cares. Our society is really thoughtless and mean these days.
MarineBob · 56-60, M
@Keepitsimple according to our state there isn't a shortage of tests here
CestManan · 46-50, F
@Keepitsimple You are correct, we are screwed either way. One cannot do anything right.
Keepitsimple · 51-55, F
@MarineBob There is here. In fact they can only take the first 100 people and our lines are outrageous. We can’t find a self test kit either. I’m just staying safe and wearing my mask again. I have too much coming up to take a chance on getting sick. In another week or so I’m going into quarantine mode as my daughter is due soon so I’ll have my grandson as I can’t even be in the room with her. My husband has to return to work in 2 weeks from his surgery and my son has another surgery coming up in 6 weeks. NJ is bad right now :(

@CestManan my town page on Facebook was crazy yesterday. People were fighting on full blast. Those who are careful are made fun of. People don’t know what’s going on in others lives and I’m thankful for those that care enough to get tested to be safe for others.
@Keepitsimple You might want to go into quarantine mode sooner rather than later. As I stated elsewhere in this question, my wife, myself, and our two kids all tested positive, but our symptoms included no Covid red flags; more like a short cold or the flu. If people aren't super cautious they can easily become unknowing spreaders.
CestManan · 46-50, F
@Keepitsimple More and more companies are going to be forcing either vaccines or weekly tests. Now if there is some shortage of covid tests, God knows how society is gonna pull THAT one off.

When that goes into full force, what will people fight about then?
Keepitsimple · 51-55, F
@ElwoodBlues I totally agree, I’m fact when my husband has covid we thought it was just a cold. So I’m always cautious now.
CestManan · 46-50, F
@Keepitsimple You seem concerned and cautious yet I remember on a post the other day you said you are not getting any more booster shots?

So what happens when they keep recommending more and more of them?
Keepitsimple · 51-55, F
@CestManan Were already at that point here in NJ. Not enough tests for testing right now. People are being turned away. I have 3 shots under my belt but I’m done now getting the shots. I’d rather stay in than get another shot. I still don’t feel good from my booster shot a couple of weeks ago.
Keepitsimple · 51-55, F
@CestManan I’m not getting them. This is here to stay. I will absolutely be cautious for myself and everybody else but 3 shots in 6 months is excessive for me.
CestManan · 46-50, F
@Keepitsimple I know you do not have the answer to this one but I am wondering then - So there are not enough tests YET companies want unvaccinated to get tested weekly?

How then do they plan to pull that off.
Keepitsimple · 51-55, F
@CestManan They can’t therefore people will be fired and go on unemployment and they’ll pass another relief bill to send $1,000 checks for people to sit on their butts again.
CestManan · 46-50, F
@Keepitsimple I wish I could say you are wrong but that is what it is looking like.

If you do not mind me saying, it sounds like even the "do-gooders" of this whole pandemic mess are getting tired of the BS.
Keepitsimple · 51-55, F
@CestManan I usually don’t get personal but here’s a situation that reinforces my view. My sister and her husband are both doctors. They and the family have had the 3 shots. Now they are sick waiting for their covid results. I understand it cuts the severity down if you get it but I am not getting a shot every 6 months. I don’t even do the flu shot.
CestManan · 46-50, F
@Keepitsimple It is like a lot of things in life - damned if you do and damned if you don't.
I totally understand where you are coming from.

So far though with companies, one or two shots is "fully vaccinated" and they are not tracking boosters, at least yet.
Keepitsimple · 51-55, F
We can’t stop living and we just can’t keep putting garbage in our systems and yet drink water out of a bottle cause it’s safer. Our immune systems are disaster anymore, lol. @CestManan
CestManan · 46-50, F
@Keepitsimple They are making covid a lifestyle to the point where it is disrupting society.
People still have to work and live. Companies need people to come to work so things can function.

It's like when people eat fast food but order a diet soda. 😄
Keepitsimple · 51-55, F
@CestManan I know. Some places have to have workers in the actual facility but I think the majority will work from home in some capacity moving forward for years to come. It’s better than the world coming to a stop. We see how that is working out for us with inflation and just having what we need on the shelves.
CestManan · 46-50, F
@Keepitsimple My job is such that working from home is just not possible.

Heh, what are cmpanies going to do in jobs where on-site is the only way? Are we going to have portable capsules?

We know how most companies are. In the past, one could be puking green and the boss would be like, "Get to work anyways! I come to work sick all the time!"
Keepitsimple · 51-55, F
@CestManan we just have to do the best we can while we go through this and be more patient and understanding with each other and businesses. Everybody is struggling :(
