Cutting sugar

Any tips for cutting sugar out of your diet? I definitely want to start cutting back on sugar but I know that it’s not best to quit cold turkey. I’m a hypochondriac and worry for my health every day. I’m not the biggest but my sugar intake could be less than what it is and I could definitely stand to lose a few. It’s just so difficult I don’t even know where to start.

Here's a guideline food itinary for a week:

Rice, peas & red kidney beans x3.
Porridge (if without a lot of sugar) x7.
Corn on the cob x 2.
Pot of youghurt x1.
400g of peanuts.
Homemade vegetable soup (homemade stock & made once per week) x2 = 1.2kg..
Cucumber x1.
100g of cheese.
300g of meat (good quality).
Noodles (good quality) x2.
(optional) Vitamin supplements.

Stats:

Preparation time: 4 hours.
Cost <€25.

Obviously, you can adapt this to your needs, but this's a well-balanced, low-sugar, low-salt, low-medium fats (good-quality healthy fats) & really healthy combination (based on my standard weekly combo).
I'd advise a vegetable soup with a lot of fried onions & a nice drop of full-fat cream (it's so tasty!). Peanuts, cheese, corn & youghurt are also quite nice. I find the rice, peas & red kidney beans combo to be surprisingly nice (if a little bland).

Download Diety (or a similar app) to track your carbs, sugar, protein, etc.. Another useful app's Olio, which allows people to give away food for free (admitedly not so useful in these times, but hey). Finally, remember to stay well-hydrated!
