10,313,369 and rising. The US is still getting over 150,000 new cases per day and that number is rising steadily.if you want to stop the spread of Covid, stay away from crowds, shopping malls, work. Do your grocery shopping online. Wear a mask, was your hands when out in public. Wear a mask when on public transport. If you don’t feel well then stay home.

The case fatality rate depends on location and circumstance (especially pre-existing health issues).

Additionally, accurate statistics rely on high testing rates in order to obtain accurate comparisons (I saw some muppet boasting that he had told authorities to stop testing! Well, duh!)

@newjaninev2 Those figures are for everyone, deaths divided by cases gives you the percentage. And remember that's extremely likely to be much higher than reality because of the cases never tested and deaths from other things being attributed to covid.

@xp47rb Yes, that’s the Case Fatality Rate, which is the ratio focused on by the media and the general public, but there’s also the Infection Fatality Rate and the Crude Mortality Rate
