What does it mean when your tongue feels like sandpaper and it burns?

I have seen 3 doctors and 2 dentists and they shrug. None of them has a clue. They tell me not to worry. I've had it for about 5 months. I got it at the same time I got an ear infection and had a tooth extraction. The ear infection got cleared up with an antibiotic and the extraction has healed OK.

Try chewing on black chilli for 10 mins a a day (leave in mouth). It helped with frequent coughs. Heard it on a radio medical chat show. But the man's symptom was continuous coughing. He rang in to say it cured it!

Never heard of black chili. Where would I get it? Not sure I'd want to try it as my mouth is stinging and burning already.
