@Mrsbetweenfatandfit You are correct. Some who test positive will not show ill effects. But they ARE contagious. This is particularly true of children, who can pass it from house to house in a community and the first thing you know about it is Grandma gets sick. But the intermediate cases often take up a hospital bed for a month or more and many of those have lasting periods of disability, which we cant measure yet as they persist today..

@Mrsbetweenfatandfit I think we can tell from the death toll, ( and let's be honest some countries fudge that information) that COVID is pretty serious.. There figs for that, hundreds of thousands of Americans dead.. There are also figs I believe out there for those who contract it and are left with what they call 'long COVID' that is lasting damage and/or illness.

@Adaydreambeliever I believe it’s definitely impacted the world. I just wish we could get some more concrete information. It drives me crazy when someone who has given me evidence this is dangerous tells me masks are essential then gets caught without them. Like if they truly believe this is lethal how the heck do they go without. Then the shutdowns confuse me since we still had so many regular folks working. I have seen the same grocery store clerks since March then hear the mask doesn’t keep us safe but the others. At a restaurant though we speak to the waiter without it on. I’m trying to sort out my confusion with what makes the difference for those people apparently not being at risk as the other things we’ve closed. Couldn’t restaurants do take out only, the grocery stores could have curb side pick up etc I just want to understand it all honestly. I’m confused daily. I work for a pair of doctors they haven’t been overrun but I read differently online. I had my own dad fall ill & it was really quite terrible but thankfully he’s gotten better. I just want to finally understand what it is we need to do & what is happening past all the stuff I don’t know what to believe or question. Ugh my brain hurts & my heart 💔

@Mrsbetweenfatandfit I do understand where you are coming from.. there is a lot of evidence and info out there, stats and stuff.. but you have to be a bit of a sleuth and really interested to find them.. but they are out there! I can find stuff on masks.. there are loads of ones on that.. and I agree that sometimes they seem to contradict themselves, so you have to look for consensus or go with the more credible of them... Ideally both!

This is what happens when science is disregarded. The messaging on this has been terrible.. unfortunately there isn’t a big book of answers that scientists can go to...policy makers pretend there is..

The general population wants and deserves answers..that takes time..

My state was one of the first to reopen, despite the numbers being nowhere near the recommended levels..

Our lives are being leveraged to keep the economy going.. “essential workers” used to mean expendable workers..

@Mrsbetweenfatandfit Masks, Restaurants doing take out only (with contactless delivery) and supermarkets offering similar arrangements as well as limiting contact and sanitizing are all things we have been through for months now among many other measures and they WORK. But the need the force of law behind them and compliance,.😷

@SW-User it’s so frustrating I know we won’t have some over night solution. With these things they happen at least once every hundred years & then it takes decades to really sort it out. I just find so much of it the rules & guidelines not lining up to logic in my head. The masks seem to make sense but then why do we find people who say they believe in them not wearing them? Are they just irresponsible or do they not even believe what they told us? I still don’t understand how the essential workers have been able to stay safe this whole time. ( I’m glad but confused as to why their numbers aren’t worse with being exposed more often) I’m not an intellectual type but I try my best to stay informed & I keep getting more confused instead of more comfortable. I want people safe, I want people to be able to pay their bills, & of course we all want to live our lives since no day is guaranteed. I long for the day we have good answers to these things & hopefully a new normal to try & not let this happen again

@whowasthatmaskedman it’s crazy that in a time & age when that’s a much more reasonable thing to do we instead have all this mess. Restaurant & grocery peeps have families too no one wants to get sick or bring it to others. Ughh 🖤

@SW-User yes my dad & many of his coworkers all got sick in December & weren’t better until March- April.
